More is better. More voices, more opinions, more perspectives. That\u2019s how we grow. We have been watching WordCamp Mumbai since the beginning and found the participation of women is far less than men. Be it volunteering or speaking, the ratio of women were always less. The women who would rather listen than talk.  We wanted to change that, and that’s how the idea to make a meetup only for women came into the mind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why only Women<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The event is only for women to make them comfortable to speak their mind and discuss their hesitations. Mostly what happens and as evidenced before is that shy women tend to keep mum. We wanted to do something about that and give a gentle nudge to them on opening up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meet up also meanwhile wants to actively encourage women on why they should apply as a speaker<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking the Stage<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We will be discussing usual pointers and will be full of conversations, anecdotes, and our collective shared experience. I think shared safe spaces is very important. One of the reasons for no men is that women tend to self-censor their thoughts when the men are around, and it\u2019s so instinctive, I wanted to do a workshop where only women were present. If you are a woman and reading this, you should come. We will have fun and many conversations and share stuff about what really matters. Think of this as a safe space to grow and nourish yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
