Got something worth sharing? WordCamp Mumbai wants to hear it.
There’s a lot of knowledge in the WordPress community. Some of it comes from years of experience. Some comes from trying something for the first time, getting it wrong, figuring it out and learning along the way.
That’s exactly the kind of knowledge we want on the WordCamp Mumbai 2027 stage.
The Call for Speakers is now open, and we’re inviting first time speakers and experienced speakers alike to send us their ideas.

WordCamp Mumbai 2027 takes place on 13 February 2027 at ATLAS SkillTech University, Mumbai, bringing together developers, designers, creators, marketers, agency owners, founders, educators, students and WordPress users.

You don’t have to be a professional speaker
Maybe you’ve spoken at conferences before.
Maybe you’ve never stood on a stage in your life.
Both are absolutely fine.
A lot of WordCamp speakers start with their first talk at a WordCamp. The important thing isn’t having a long list of speaking credits. It’s having something useful, interesting or meaningful to share.
- You might have solved a problem that other developers keep running into.
- You might have found a better way to work with clients.
- You might have built something interesting.
- You might have learned an important lesson the hard way.
- Or you might simply have a different way of looking at something.
If it could help someone else, we want to hear about it.
What can you talk about?
There’s no single “WordCamp speaker” profile.
We’re looking for ideas across development, design, business, content, SEO, community and the wider open web.
That could mean a deep technical dive into Gutenberg, performance, security or hosting.
- It could be a design or accessibility walkthrough.
- It could be a story about growing an agency, working with clients or building a product.
- It could be about content, SEO, AI search or Generative Engine Optimisation.
- It could be about contributing to WordPress or working in open source.
- And it doesn’t have to fit neatly into any of those categories.

Don’t see your topic on the list? Send it anyway.
We’re putting together a programme for people, not ticking boxes.
You won’t have to figure it out alone
First-time speakers often have one big question: “What if I’m not good at this?”
That’s okay.
If you want help shaping your idea or working on your submission, mentorship is available. The aim is not to make every talk sound the same. It’s to help you turn a good idea into a talk that works for the audience.
And if your proposal isn’t selected, please don’t see that as a judgement on your idea or your ability. There are only so many speaking slots, and the programme has to balance topics, formats and speakers.
You can still join us as an attendee, volunteer, or come back with another idea next time.
Why put yourself out there?
Because speaking is not just about standing on a stage. It’s a chance to put your ideas into the world.
You’ll meet people who work in the same space, learn from other speakers and connect with the wider WordPress community. Your talk will also be recorded and can live on WordPress.tv, so your ideas can reach people long after WordCamp Mumbai is over. And there’s something satisfying about standing up and saying:
“I figured this out. Maybe it will help you too.”
Have more than one idea?
Good. Submit them all.
You can submit as many ideas as you like. If more than one is selected, the team will work with you on scheduling. The number of speaking slots is approximate for now and will be finalised when the full programme comes together.
One last thing
WordCamp Mumbai is community-run. The organising team is made up of volunteers from the community. So when you submit a talk, you’re not sending a pitch into some distant conference machine.
You’re sharing an idea with your community.
Maybe it will become a session. Maybe it will start a conversation. Maybe someone in the audience will take your idea back to work on Monday and use it to solve a problem. That’s what a WordCamp is all about.
Ready to share?
The Call for Speakers closes on 30 November 2026. If you’ve been thinking, “Maybe I should apply,” this is your sign to stop thinking about it and send in the idea.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. Start with the idea.
