Our Code of Conduct sets out the behaviour we expect from all participants and helps us ensure that everyone can take part, connect, learn and contribute comfortably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
WordCamp Mumbai believes our community should be open and welcoming to everyone. We are committed to creating a friendly, safe and respectful environment for all participants, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, age, caste, social class, preferred operating system, programming language, text editor, or any other identifying characteristic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This Code of Conduct sets out what we expect from everyone participating in WordCamp Mumbai, along with the steps we may take if someone\u2019s behaviour does not meet those expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We invite all sponsors, volunteers, speakers, facilitators, attendees, media partners, and other participants to play their part in making WordCamp Mumbai a safe, positive, and welcoming experience for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A supplemental goal of this Code of Conduct is to encourage open source citizenship by recognising the role we each play in building a stronger, more welcoming community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During WordCamp Mumbai, the organising team will be taking nominations for people who go the extra mile to make the community welcoming, friendly and inclusive. We will recognise a few of these exemplary community members on the WordCamp Mumbai website after the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you see someone making an extra effort to welcome others, help people feel included, or encourage participants to contribute and get involved, let any of our volunteers or organising team members know. We would love to hear about them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unacceptable behaviour includes intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning conduct by any attendee at WordCamp Mumbai or its related events. Some WordCamp Mumbai venues may also be open to members of the public, so please be respectful of everyone using these spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability; inappropriate use of nudity or sexual images in public spaces, including presentation slides; deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated, whether it comes from attendees, organisers, venue staff, sponsors, or other patrons at WordCamp Mumbai venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to do so immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If a participant engages in unacceptable behaviour, the conference organisers may take whatever action they consider appropriate, including expulsion from the conference without warning or refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you experience unacceptable behaviour, notice someone else being subjected to it, or have any other concerns, please speak to a conference organiser as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The WordCamp Mumbai team is here to support you. We can help you contact venue security or local law enforcement, arrange an escort, or otherwise assist you in feeling safe during the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Volunteers will be available throughout the event and can connect you with a conference organiser. You can also visit the special registration desk in the lobby and ask to speak with an organiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We expect everyone taking part in WordCamp Mumbai, including sponsors, volunteers, speakers, facilitators, media partners and attendees, to follow this Code of Conduct at all conference venues and during conference related social events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
