Get the latest news and updates on Instagram through our new handle name – WordCampMumbai.

We decided to get a brand new handle name due to technical glitches.

Our old handle name is WCMumbai and is NOT handled by core community members so please see to it that you are following the correct new handle name – WordCampMumbai.

We tried contacting Instagram support team to sort out the issue and discontinue the incorrect account, but unable to get through them. In short, we are locked out of the older Instagram account and this year we decided to launch a brand new Instagram account.

More is better. More voices, more opinions, more perspectives. That’s how we grow. We have been watching WordCamp Mumbai since the beginning and found the participation of women is far less than men. Be it volunteering or speaking, the ratio of women were always less. The women who would rather listen than talk.  We wanted to change that, and that’s how the idea to make a meetup only for women came into the mind. 

Why only Women

The event is only for women to make them comfortable to speak their mind and discuss their hesitations. Mostly what happens and as evidenced before is that shy women tend to keep mum. We wanted to do something about that and give a gentle nudge to them on opening up. 

The meet up also meanwhile wants to actively encourage women on why they should apply as a speaker.

Taking the Stage

We will be discussing usual pointers and will be full of conversations, anecdotes, and our collective shared experience. I think shared safe spaces is very important. One of the reasons for no men is that women tend to self-censor their thoughts when the men are around, and it’s so instinctive, I wanted to do a workshop where only women were present. If you are a woman and reading this, you should come. We will have fun and many conversations and share stuff about what really matters. Think of this as a safe space to grow and nourish yourself.

Hey there, WordCamp Mumbai is announced and this time it’s happening in that month of the year where Mumbai is chilled! Yes, it’s happening in the cozy Mumbai winter and we couldn’t be happier!

We are back with a bang after a long list of maybe and not maybe and what’s happening!

But you know what, good things take time, and here we are to prove just that.

We are so pleased to announce that we are back, with many new additions which is surely going to make it an overall exciting event.

WordCamp Mumbai this year is going to be a 3-day mega event with several engaging sessions and trailblazing talks that is surely going to make this year the best yet.

There’s going to be our regular WordCamp with exceptional sessions handled by the handpicked speakers on trending topics. But before that, we are doing something special!

Contributor’s Day

We are organizing Contributor day, a day before the WordCamp, just to get things started and get everyone in the groove. Contributor day is a day dedicated to contributing our expertise and skillset to make WordPress better as a community, and we are looking forward to hosting several volunteers to participate and make it a success. 

Venue

As we grow bigger we have decided to go for an educational venue that achieves our vision of elevating our knowledge-sharing platform. That’s why the venue we have chosen this year is – TCET : Thakur College of Engineering and Technology, Kandivali East. It comfortably accommodates all our attendees.
